Senior Minister in the Office of the President with responsibility for Finance, Dr. Ashni Singh presented Guyana’s Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS) 2030 to the National Assembly on Thursday July 21, 2022. It is expected that the National Assembly will debate the motion on the LCDS 2030 at its next sitting.
This followed the final steps of the seven month consultation on the draft LCDS 2030, including the endorsement by the National Toshaos’ Council on Friday July 15, 2022, and a meeting of the LCDS Multi-Stakeholder Steering Committee (MSSC) on Monday July 18, 2022 – where the MSSC approved the finalisation of the Strategy based on the wide-ranging stakeholder feedback since October 2021, and the MSSC committed to further consultation as the LCDS 2030 moves to implementation.
