The Government of Guyana welcomes the decision of the Integrity Council for the Voluntary
Carbon Market (ICVCM), regarding the Architecture for REDD+ Transactions (ART) TREES
v2.0 HFLD Crediting Level category and its eligibility for Core Carbon Principles (CCP) labelling.

Guyana has long supported high-integrity carbon market standards grounded in science,
transparency and environmental integrity, and recognises the importance of robust standards in
building long-term market confidence.

We note that ICVCM has made CCP-approval contingent on five specified remedial actions.
These actions are already aligned with standard elements of Guyana’s jurisdictional REDD+
implementation, which has been in place for well over a decade – including conservative
accounting, robust monitoring, strong governance, and the management of reversal risk.

Guyana therefore, stands ready to immediately provide any further information ICVCM and ART
may require to demonstrate how these elements are already embedded within our jurisdictional
REDD+ system, in support of the rapid conclusion of the CCP process.

Forest countries and forest communities can deliver one of the world’s largest climate mitigation
opportunities before 2030. Jurisdictional forest carbon markets are already generating real
finance for Indigenous peoples, local communities, climate action, and sustainable
development.

But unlocking their full potential requires certainty, predictability, and confidence – not prolonged
uncertainty. The priority now should be to strengthen market confidence to scale finance for
countries and communities that are sustainably managing and safeguarding the world’s forests.

We therefore encourage the ICVCM and ART to move rapidly to complete the CCP process as
quickly as possible.
